On March 14, 2019, the Indonesian Italian Business Association (IBAI) was invited by the Indonesian Ministry of Manpower with other international chambers such as the American Chamber (AmCham), Australia Indonesia Business Council (IABC), Canadian Chamber of Commerce (ICCC), European Rooms (EuroCham), French Indonesia Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IFCCI), Jakarta Japan Club (JJC), Korea Chamber of Commerce & Industry (KorCham), Indonesian Chinese Chamber of Commerce (ICCC ), Taipei Economic and Trade Office (TETO), and US-ASEAN Business Council; discussed the draft regulation on job positions for foreign workers.
The discussion was chaired by Ms. Roostiawati as Director of Labor Market Development, Mr. Heri Sudarmanto as Functional Officer for Primary Workers, and Ms. Yanti Nurhayati Ningsih as Head of the Visa and Foreign Relations Sub-Directorate regarding draft regulations for regulating positions for foreign workers. However, the Ministry of Manpower opened proposals from the International Chambers for the position of foreign workers and sector industries that were not in the draft regulation with a description of the reasons to be added. The ministry targets the draft regulations will submit within 2 months after finalization with the input proposed by respective associations, private business, legal offices, state-owned companies and ministry offices related.
