The streamlined permitting process implemented by the Cimahi City Government has attracted investors over the past year. As a result, incoming investments have significantly increased and have been able to employ local workers. According to Online Single Submission (OSS) data, in 2023, the total investment value in Cimahi City reached IDR 7.7 trillion. This is a notable increase compared to the previous year when the investment value was only IDR 7.3 trillion. The investment value in Cimahi City has increased by approximately 10.35% from last year, reaching IDR 7.7 trillion, with the potential for further growth as stated by Acting Mayor of Cimahi City. The achievement of increased investments is closely related to the conducive and simplified permitting process for investors. This demonstrates that the investment climate in Cimahi City is thriving and making investors feel comfortable.
So far, incoming investments have been predominantly in the service sector, including industries, warehousing, wholesale and retail trade, repair, construction, and more. Meanwhile, local revenue (PAD) until September 2023 has increased by 80%. The PAD target is expected to reach IDR 377 billion, and as of now, the government have achieved IDR 303 billion, and there is a possibility of an increase by the end of the year. Although Cimahi City is not very large in terms of area, it is known as a trading and industrial city with three districts. Therefore, urban planning has also been carried out to attract investments. For instance, the revitalization of Cimahi Square as an infrastructure improvement project that sets Cimahi apart and attracts many visitors. The Cimahi City Government also plans to improve street lighting (PJU) on several roads in Cimahi City, such as Gedung Empat, Amir Mahmud Street, Gatot Subroto Street, and several other roads. This will support development and enhance the security of each neighborhood. The influx of investments has driven the absorption of local employees or labor, opening up employment opportunities for the residents of Cimahi.
