Based on data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), Indonesia's coffee exports in 2022 amounted to USD 1.14 billion, with a volume of 433,780 tons. This represented a significant increase of 35.71% compared to the previous year when exports totaled USD 842.52 million, with a volume of 380,173 tons. Analyzing the trend, Indonesia's coffee exports have shown fluctuations over the past decade, with the highest export value recorded at USD 1.24 billion in 2012 and the lowest at USD 806.88 million in 2018.
In terms of destination countries, the United States was the largest importer of Indonesian coffee, with a total value of USD 268.55 million in the past year. Additionally, Indonesia exported coffee worth USD 81.73 million to Egypt, USD 80.94 million to Germany, and USD 71.65 million to India. Furthermore, coffee exports to Belgium were recorded at USD 64.89 million, and Japan ranked sixth, with coffee exports from Indonesia valued at USD 59.09 million. Indonesia also exported coffee to Malaysia and Italy, amounting to USD 53.13 million and USD 49.98 million, respectively.
