Bengkayang Regent: Investment in the Tourism Sector Advances the Region

Regent of Bengkayang, West Kalimantan, Sebastianus Darwis, has expressed his support for investments in various sectors, including tourism, to promote the development of the region, particularly welcoming the presence of The Palm Resort. He emphasized the crucial role of hotels in the tourism industry, highlighting that they are integral to travel needs. Bengkayang Regency boasts a rich cultural heritage, traditional practices, and natural beauty that attract both local and international tourists.

Darwis believes that the establishment of The Palm Resort will have a positive impact on the local community by creating job opportunities, especially for the residents of Karimunting Village and the surrounding areas. He also noted that the presence of the resort would enhance economic prospects in the tourism sector, particularly in the Sungai Raya Kepulauan Subdistrict, which already has existing resorts like Pantai Samudera Indah, Mimiland, and Kahyangan Resort.

Additionally, he hopes that The Palm Resort, with its Convention Center capable of accommodating 3,000 to 5,000 people, will be able to host both national and international meetings and events, including the Anugerah Pesona Indonesia (API) Award in 2025. This national event is expected to attract participants from across Indonesia and will further boost the region's tourism and economic activity.
