Indonesia continues to make strides in the poultry industry by exporting hatching eggs (HE) to Myanmar, further expanding its poultry export market. PT Super Unggas Jaya, an integrated poultry company, successfully exported 58,500 high-quality hatching eggs that will yield 18,000 Day Old Chick (DOC) Parent Stock (PS). This achievement aligns with the government's efforts to promote surplus commodity production for export while ensuring domestic needs are met. Indonesia's robust poultry production, which surpasses national consumption demand, has allowed the country to establish a surplus of 348,000 tons and facilitate poultry exports, including recent successes in entering the Singaporean market and obtaining export approvals from the UAE.
The export of premium-quality hatching eggs to Myanmar serves as an example of Indonesia's commitment to enhancing the value and competitiveness of its poultry products. This achievement is particularly significant during the 187th anniversary of the Ministry of Agriculture and the Veterinary and Animal Health Services, inspiring poultry farmers to continue contributing to Indonesia's food security. The government's support for the poultry sector includes measures such as Avian Influenza-free compartment systems, Good Breeding Practices, adherence to Animal Welfare principles, and veterinary certification for food safety. PT. Super Unggas Jaya plans to explore additional export opportunities in markets like Timor-Leste, Singapore, and South Korea, further emphasizing the potential of Indonesia's poultry industry on the global stage.
