The Indonesian government has set a target to become a developed nation by 2045, marking the 100th anniversary of its independence. To achieve this ambitious goal, it recognizes the critical importance of both energy security and food security as key factors for sustainable development. To synergize these efforts, SKK Migas, in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture, organized the 2023 Land and Forestry Working Meeting in Surabaya. The meeting aimed to address the synchronization of regulations and land use between the upstream oil and gas industry and the agriculture sector.
The government has set national targets for increasing oil and gas production, aiming for 1 million barrels of oil per day and 12 billion cubic feet of gas per day by 2030. SKK Migas is actively promoting increased investment in the upstream oil and gas sector to achieve these goals. Simultaneously, the Ministry of Agriculture, in partnership with local governments, is working to designate Sustainable Food Agriculture Land (LP2B) to enhance food security. This collaboration between sectors aims to balance land use, ensure regulatory compliance, and minimize disruptions to food production while advancing energy production and security, contributing to Indonesia's path towards becoming a developed nation by 2045.
