The Directorate General of Customs and Excise (DJBC) in East Java Province is actively supporting Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in their quest to expand their businesses globally. The initiative encourages these businesses to explore markets on five different continents: Europe, Australia, Asia, Africa, and America. This strategic move aims to bolster the national economy and promote economic stability by empowering and facilitating MSMEs, in alignment with Presidential Regulation No. 7 of 2021. DJBC provides various support programs such as export clinics, the KITE IKM facility, and collaborative initiatives like Interfirm Linkage and Logistics Solutions to enable MSMEs to go global successfully.
East Java relies heavily on the contributions of MSMEs, with their share in the Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) standing at 57.5%. To aid these businesses in penetrating new markets, East Java's Customs and Excise has partnered with numerous organizations, including local government departments and trade promotion centers, to facilitate the export of sample products from MSMEs to test markets across the five continents. This collaborative effort seeks to open doors to new markets and ensure the ongoing success of MSME exports. A total of 25 MSMEs from East Java have embarked on this journey, and stakeholders are actively involved in nurturing and developing these businesses throughout their expansion process.
