In a collaborative effort between PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BCA) and the Ministry of Trade, a training program was conducted in Semarang and Yogyakarta from September 11th to 13th, 2023. Aimed at supporting export-oriented Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (UMKM), this initiative involved 60 UMKM entrepreneurs. The training focused on preparing these entrepreneurs to enter the international market by improving product quality, identifying export market potential, understanding export access, conducting foreign transaction simulations, and developing effective promotional strategies. BCA's Director, John Kosasih, expressed hope that this training would empower more UMKM to engage in exporting, thereby boosting foreign exchange reserves and national economic growth. UMKM play a significant role in Indonesia's economy, contributing 60.5% to the GDP and employing nearly 97% of the national workforce. Despite their importance, UMKM's participation in the global value chain remains relatively low, leaving untapped potential for growth.
In a separate effort to bolster Indonesia's SMEs in the global market, Digiasia Bios forged a strategic partnership with the Indonesian Export Financing Agency (LPEI) and Blitznet. This collaboration aims to develop a digital export platform, emphasizing the President's directive to elevate UMKM and promote digital-based export activities. The platform, known as the Integrated Export Digital Platform, will be supported by an Embedded Finance as a Service (EFaaS) system and incorporate solutions from Blitzpro and Digital Export Marketplace offered by Blitznet. This ecosystem seeks to prepare Indonesian SMEs for international exports, facilitating their entry into global markets with financial support from LPEI and advanced digital solutions from Digiasia Bios and Blitznet. This partnership represents a significant opportunity for export-oriented businesses in Indonesia, providing them with the tools and resources needed to thrive on the international stage.
