Exports At The Indonesia-Malaysia Border in Badau Reach IDR 3.47 Billion

From January to August 2023, exports through the Nanga Badau National Border Post (PLBN) at the Indonesia-Malaysia border in the Kapuas Hulu region of West Kalimantan amounted to IDR 3.47 billion with a volume of 56.1 tons of agricultural and fisheries products from the region. The agricultural and fisheries products of Kapuas Hulu show promising potential in penetrating the global border markets, and the community should be able to seize this opportunity according to the Head of the Nanga Badau Customs Office, in Kapuas Hulu. Several freshwater fish products dominated the export activities, such as catfish, mahseer, and barbels. Meanwhile, agricultural products included pepper plants and various vegetables.

It is hoped that the potential in Kapuas Hulu would continue to grow and become a source of economic growth for the community through export activities, with an increase in export entrepreneurs and products such as handmade crafts. The Head of the Customs and Excise Service Section and Technical Support at the Nanga Badau Customs and Excise Office, added that the MSME corner and export clinics, through assistance to entrepreneurs and MSMEs, will continue to be conducted and enhanced to tap into the export potential of other leading commodities, such as honey, processed wood, rubber, arowana fish, and other potentials. The Customs and Excise Office are continually coordinating with all parties to simplify requirements, permits, and expedite export services at the border. Based on data from the Nanga Badau Customs and Excise Office for the period from January to June 2023, export revenue amounted to IDR 2.32 billion from 40.7 tons of agricultural and fisheries products.
