The State-Owned Enterprises (SOE) Tourism Holding and its subsidiary, PT Aviasi Pariwisata Indonesia (Persero), also known as InJourney, are eyeing investors at the ASEAN-Indo Pacific Forum (AIPF) 2023. One of the highlights will be the Special Economic Zone (SEZ) in Sanur, Bali. The CEO of InJourney, explained that the Sanur Health SEZ is a national project aimed at addressing Indonesia's need for comprehensive and internationally acclaimed healthcare facilities. Spanning across 41.26 hectares owned by PT Hotel Indonesia Natour (PT HIN), a member of the InJourney Group, the Sanur SEZ will be developed as a world-class international healthcare and tourism hub equipped with state-of-the-art facilities. The development will encompass accommodation facilities comprising hotels and resorts with up to 1000 rooms, amenities catering to the elderly, an Ethnobotanical Garden, an International Convention Centre capable of hosting up to 5000 people, a Commercial Area, an SME Center, and various other amenities.
The Sanur SEZ is anticipated to recapture a significant portion of Indonesia's foreign exchange expenditure, amounting to IDR 97.6 trillion annually, previously spent on overseas healthcare services by around 2 million Indonesian citizens. The Sanur SEZ development offers an integrated approach to healthcare and tourism services, complemented by various facilities within the area, international standards, and collaboration from stakeholders both domestically and internationally. The development of the Sanur SEZ represents a strategic transformational step in creating added value for Indonesia. With the establishment of the Sanur SEZ, Indonesia will have a world-class healthcare center and will become a new tourism magnet through the concept of medical and wellness tourism.
