Indonesia's Flagship Programs In Building Open Creative Economy Ecosystem

Indonesia is taking a leading role in building an inclusive creative economy ecosystem, aiming to enhance the role of the creative economy in the global economic recovery. Through several flagship programs, the goal is to create 4.4 million new, high-quality jobs in the Creative Economy sector by 2024 as stated by the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy. Among the initiatives launched by the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy (Kemenparekraf) in collaboration with local governments are "Apresiasi Kreasi Indonesia" (AKI), "Strategi Pengembangan Kabupaten/Kota Kreatif" (KaTa Kreatif) Indonesia, "Anugerah Desa Wisata," and others. The Minister cited the successful example of Terong Village, a tourist village in Belitung Regency that has received recognition for its achievements. "Congratulations, and let's collaborate with the spirit of 3G (Gercep, move fast. Geber, move together, and Gaspol, explore all online potentials). Empowering Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) would create new employment opportunities.

East Belitung has tremendous potential. The Minister sees that tourism and the creative economy are the backbone of East Belitung and Belitung Regency's economies. He also urged the promotion of empowered MSMEs, in line with President Joko Widodo's directives. Specifically, East Belitung Regency is home to one of the most well-known tourist villages in the entire archipelago, known as Laskar Pelangi Village. According to The Minister, Belitung Island is widely recognized throughout the archipelago as the Island of Laskar Pelangi, which is now part of Jadesta (Jejaring Desa Wisata) with a 3A (Attractions, Amenities, and Accessibility) concept. Moreover, it adopts 3SI (Innovation, Adaptation, and Collaboration), representing concrete steps toward creating an advanced, prosperous, just, and prosperous Indonesia. These efforts would not succeed without the support of all stakeholders, inviting everyone, particularly those in the Creative Economy sector, MSME owners, entrepreneurs, and communities, to join hands and become the driving force of the creative economy in East Belitung Regency.
