Indonesia managed to export chicken eggs to Singapore with a value of 101,730 Singapore dollars or equivalent to IDR 1.15 billion. This export is the 16th shipment of the total export plan of 9.3 million grains with a value of IDR 19.4 billion. Minister of Agriculture (Mentan) Syahrul Yasin Limpo (SYL) said that efforts to open access to chicken egg exports to Singapore succeeded in making Indonesia penetrate the world market. This was conveyed by the Minister of Agriculture SYL when attending an export release event at the Charoen Pokphand Indonesia (CPI) Office some time ago. Minister of Agriculture SYL added, this export activity will not interfere with chicken egg production in Indonesia, considering that domestic chicken egg production continues to increase, thus impacting the prognosis surplus of egg production. In 2023, there will still be almost 300,000 tons (of chicken eggs) available from the total produced.
The total balance of national purebred chicken eggs in 2023 will reach 43,907 tons with an estimated surplus of 279,492 tons. Data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) states that the export performance of livestock commodities for the January-July 2023 period managed to penetrate IDR 11.8 trillion with a total export value of 9.56% and an export volume of 15.36% or a drastic increase from 2022. The realisation of poultry exports also increased by 47% in 2022 with a total value of 3.8 million Singapore dollars or weighing 1,499 tons of poultry. These export destination countries include Singapore, Japan, Papua New Guinea, Timor Leste, Myanmar, Bangladesh, to the Philippines.
