The award for the Regional Export Strengthening Program category received by East Kalimantan was handed over directly by the Minister of Trade of the Republic of Indonesia Zulkifli Hasan, at the 2023 Merdeka Awards event entitled "Indonesian Inspiration". Continuing to advance the export potential of Bumi Etam, the commitment of the East Kalimantan Provincial Government is bearing sweet fruit. Considered to have created a breakthrough in regional Export Strengthening, the East Kalimantan Provincial Government was awarded the award. East Kalimantan is considered good in strengthening exports with several excellent programs including the Acceleration of Infrastructure Development Supporting Export Performance of Local Products in the form of Export Special Ports, Human Resources Strengthening Programs in the form of Palm Oil Scholarship Programs, Export Access Ease Programs for Local Business People in the form of SKA Issuance and Inacraft Borneo Exhibitions, and Joint Production Houses, as well as Banking Programs for Export Strengthening in the form of Export Kaltimpreneurs.
Along with these various efforts, Kaltim was also able to prove its success, including by obtaining the fifth national rank in the first quarter of 2022 and continuing to be in the top 10 PMDN Investment Realisation and also PMA Provincial Rankings at the national level in the second quarter of 2023 at this time.
