Not only bringing raw materials from outside the region or even imports, some local raw materials also have the potential to be used as products of selling value. This potential was explored by MSMEs from Kebumen, Central Java. Novita Hermawan, she is a member of the Home Decore Agrominafiber Java Indonesia utilises local potential, namely banana fronds to be used as a variety of unique products. Novita’s business products use organic waste from banana fronds from the Kebumen area. She made the raw materials into a variety of products ranging from baskets, chairs, carpets, and various home décor products. Raw materials are abundant and easy to find and able to sell at a more affordable price.
In addition to banana fronds, other natural potentials are also used such as water hyacinths and pandanus. This was used by other colleagues who are members of the Home Décor Agrominafiber Java Indonesia. According to Novita, many of the MSMEs that are members of the cooperative have products by utilising natural potential. For example, bamboo, made into products ranging from drinking bottles, glasses, cups, flower vases and various other home decorations. In fact, some are also made into watch products.
