Experiencing An Increase, BKIPM Ambon Said Maluku Vaname Shrimp Exports Reached 6,897 Tons

The Ambon Fish Quarantine and Quality Control Center (BKIPM) stated that exports of vaname shrimp commodities from Maluku reached 6,897 tons in the first semester of 2023. This figure increases rapidly when compared to the same period in 2022 which was only 2,823 tons. Hatta said that exports of Maluku vaname shrimp commodities in the first quarter of 2022 and 2023 were more towards 11 countries, namely China, USA, Japan, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Australia, Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, South Korea and the Philippines. In percentage terms, based on the data we have, the increase reached 144%. The export value of these commodities also increased when compared to the first semester of 2022, namely 14,180,152 US Dollars to 30,565,157 US Dollars in the first semester of 2023. In addition to vaname shrimp, live and non-live fishery commodities that are increasingly in demand by foreign markets are tuna, grouper, and mangrove crabs.
According to him, the increase is inseparable from the hard work of all elements of BKIPM Ambon and related stakeholders who facilitate the licensing process and export services of marine products from Maluku. The government wants to change the mindset of the people who previously considered taking care of permits difficult but now there is an hour of follow-up, unlike before, even having to wait up to 14 days. He said his party focused on accelerating licensing, certification and so on. The speed of service is certainly inseparable from the synergy between the central government, regional governments, and business actors. The government would like to thank business actors and stakeholders for never stopping doing this acceleration effort and it has become a joint commitment.
