Minister of Agriculture Syahrul Yasin Limpo (SYL) released mung been exports to China as much as 1,000 tons. This export is said to be proof that Indonesia's agricultural sector is currently resilient despite being faced with global challenges such as El Nino. So it also needs to be encouraged to increase the downstream of green beans to provide added value to the national economy. He explained, green beans produced in Indonesia as a tropical country have comparative advantages that other countries do not have so that export demand is very open. Green beans are a food crop commodity that is much needed both domestically and abroad.
Furthermore, SYL emphasized that the export target for agricultural commodities in 2023 is IDR 900 trillion, an increase from the previous year of IDR 658.18 trillion. Therefore, the Ministry of Agriculture continues to make efforts to increase the volume of mung bean exports and increase export destination countries in order to pursue the export target of agricultural commodities in 2023. The target exports in 2023 to reach IDR 900 trillion. So the government and business actors and others must work together, divide tasks so that our targets can be achieved. For this green bean, exports will not only be carried out in China, but also later exports to the Philippines, Thailand, and we encourage business actors to explore the market in Europe.
