This time the district government facilitated free halal certification for 1,000 culinary MSME players in Banyuwangi. Registration of halal certification participants will be centered at Pendopo Sabha Swagata Banyuwangi. In addition, MSME players who want to register can also access online links on bit.ly/halalbwi. Banyuwangi Regent Ipuk Fiestiandani said that halal certification can increase the selling value of business actors. Having a halal certificate on the product can be a guarantor that the product sold is a quality product. In addition, with halal certification, culinary products can also reach a wider and global market, because it is easier to accept.
Head of the Banyuwangi Micro Business and Trade Cooperative Office Nanin Oktaviantie said that this activity was the result of collaboration between the Banyuwangi Regency Government and the Halal Product Assurance Organizing Agency (BPJPH), Ministry of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, through the SEHATI program (free halal certification). Previously, through this collaboration, there were 2,500 halal certificates issued to Banyuwangi MSMEs. This free halal certification service will be carried out through a self-declaration mechanism. Namely the mechanism where the halal declaration of products is carried out by the business actors themselves.
