The commitment of the Batu City Government to encourage MSMEs to upgrade continues to be carried out. It is recorded that until 2023, there are 331 MSMEs working with large companies to export their products. Exports that have been carried out include shipments of carrots, potatoes and fruit chips. This was conveyed by Pj Mayor of Batu, Aries Agung Paewai that Batu Tourism City has extraordinary MSME product potential. Moreover, in terms of the number and quality of MSME products, Batu City is very competitive. It is known that one of the MSME products that has been exported is carrots, potatoes and fruit chips to tempeh chips. Tempeh chips, for example, are chosen as an export commodity because tempeh is a superfood that has many benefits and high protein. In addition, tempeh has also met International Food Standards.
Batu City Government continues to strive to help MSMEs to continue to expand the market reach of their products. Including seeking the adoption or utilization of information technology (IT) for the MSME and PKL markets. One of the things that has been done by Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs Kota Batu is to develop the existence of street vendors and MSMEs in the Batu City Square area. Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs helps these small businesses adopt technology, so that they can survive and reach a wider market. By utilizing digital marketing, Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs wants MSME products in Batu City to be able to reach a wider market. Therefore, through the Future City program, small businesses that are members of it are expected not only to reach millions of consumers through the Grab and Bukalapak platforms. But also get new income opportunities by having a digital store to maintain the sustainability of their business.
