Jakarta Records Economic Growth of 5.13% in the Second Quarter of 2023

Bank Indonesia representatives of DKI Jakarta Province reported that the capital's economic growth in the second quarter of 2023 was 5.13%. This figure increased 0.18% from the previous quarter at 4.95%. Head of Bank Indonesia Representative for DKI Jakarta Province, Arlyana Abubakar said, the increasing economic growth of DKI Jakarta in the second quarter of 2023 was driven by high public mobility on major days, such as Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha. In addition, it was also triggered by a number of national and international events. From the demand side, economic growth in Jakarta mainly comes from the performance of household consumption, investment, and government consumption. In July 2023, Jakarta's inflation will decrease from 3.20% to 2.81%. The source of Jakarta's inflationary pressure came from the transportation (BBM), housing (house contract), and food, beverage and tobacco groups. It is predicted that economic growth figures throughout 2023 will continue to increase.

In June 2023, the number of QRIS transaction users in DKI Jakarta has increased by 645.8 thousand users or 59% of the target of 2023.1 million new QRIS 1 users. The volume of DKI Jakarta QRIS transactions until June 2023 has reached 334.9 million transactions or 97 percent of the target of 347.7 million transactions. The increase in QRIS usage will also continue to be encouraged by Bank Indonesia, one of which is through the DKI Jakarta National QRIS Week 2023 which will be held on August 14-20, 2023. The government will continue to collaborate with various stakeholders to strengthen economic growth and maintain inflation. Among other things, maintaining purchasing power and sustainable growth in household consumption by controlling low and stable inflation.
