Minister Sandi Expresses Hope for the Establishment of a National Tourism Governance Task Force

Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno hopes that the crisis management forum organized by the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy (Kemenparekraf) and the National Public Relations Coordinating Agency (Bakohumas) will lead to the establishment of a national-scale Tourism Governance Acceleration Task Force. "Just like in Bali, where we have the Tourism Governance Acceleration Task Force, it would be beneficial for the creative economy sector to have a cross-ministerial task force at the national level," Sandiaga stated in Jakarta on Tuesday. In the future, the Ministry aims to promote standard operating procedures (SOP) related to tourism management to relevant ministries/agencies, including the Ministry of Communication and Informatics (Kemkominfo), to create a unified narrative regarding quality and sustainable Indonesian tourism.

Fadjar Hutomo, Expert Staff in Crisis Management at Kemenparekraf, mentioned that the ministry already has a tourism crisis management team that will collaborate and coordinate with Bakohumas to enhance awareness and address emerging issues. The collaboration aims to effectively communicate and address pertinent information. Kemenparekraf and Bakohumas jointly organized a socialization event titled 'Crisis Communication Management: Strategies for Facing Challenges in Tourism and Creative Economy' to enhance understanding and capabilities in crisis communication within the tourism and creative economy sectors. The forum aims to provide a platform for sharing knowledge, experiences, and best practices in addressing various challenges and crises that arise within the tourism and creative economy sector.
