Regent of North Morowali highlighted that agriculture plays a crucial role in driving economic growth in the region, proved by agriculture contribute 28% to the economic growth of North Morowali Regency. He also stated that this the reason why their economic growth ranks first in Sulawesi and second in Indonesia. At the beginning of the administration, the government started organizing agriculture by mapping potential and suitable commodities for cultivation. The mapping of potential and region-based commodities is conducted by IPB Bogor. This month, the government will hold agricultural discussions involving all extension workers, KTNA (Indonesian Agribusiness Association) members, and farmer groups in North Morowali. With this mapping, there will be no overlap of commodities, and all aspects from seedlings, inputs to fertilizers, will be tailored to suitable commodities for that region. Furthermore, the local government will also educate extension workers (PPL) to become field specialists for specific commodities.
