PT HM Sampoerna Tbk (Sampoerna), through its Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) empowerment program, Sampoerna Entrepreneurship Training Center (SETC), has facilitated five SME entrepreneurs to expand globally. Five promising SME entrepreneurs under Sampoerna’s guidance fulfilled the export requirements to participate in the Wellness Food Japan 2023 exhibition. The participants are Padma Herbal, CV Bali Pure, PD Sahang Mas, UD Dede Satoe, Alexest Jaya. Owner of Bali Pure, expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to participate in this exhibition. This is a chance for Bali Pure to introduce Bali Pure products to the international stage. Bali Pure also hope to find buyers from Japan. Similar sentiments were echoed by the proprietor of Padma Herbal. He mentioned that the two-month training provided by SETC and BEDO has further solidified his efforts to market his products, including herbal food and beverages, abroad. He also expressed pride and appreciation for the SME support extended towards exports. The SMEs were guided, given significant insights, and directed on the necessary product and sales tools. It is hoped that the hard work will lead to potential buyers willing to collaborate with the SMEs.
This program aims to provide capacity-building and suitable market development support for SMEs under SETC’s guidance, enhancing the connectivity of SMEs with potential markets. Market development activities within this program encompass not only the domestic market share but also explore the potential for exports through various exhibitions. The international exhibition, Wellness Food Japan 2023, was held at Tokyo Big Sight from 2nd to 4th August 2023. Wellness Food Japan stands as one of the largest food industry trade exhibitions in Japan, with the participation of over 600 companies and approximately 40,000 visitors daily. The exhibition received support from the Japanese government, including the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, and the Consumer Affairs Agency.
