The cosmetics industry in both Thailand and Indonesia is experiencing rapid expansion. Cosmetic and personal care products have become the focus of many entrepreneurs who recognize the promising potential of this business. Regarding the potential that both countries can develop, recent collaboration was realized through the "Thailand Cosmetics & Personal Care Business Matching" event. This event played a crucial role in helping Thai exporters enter the Indonesian market. The event also served as a golden opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the Indonesian market, including halal certification requirements. Cosmetic and personal care products from Thailand have significant potential in the Indonesian market.
The main objective of the event was to assist Thai exporters in meeting with importers in Indonesia, enabling them to successfully enter and expand their market share in the country. To achieve this goal, the seminar involved the Indonesian Drug and Food Control Agency (BPOM) and the Halal Product Assurance Organizing Agency (BPJPH), responsible for educating Thai companies, especially those in the cosmetic and personal care sectors, to better understand the needs of the Indonesian market. With this collaboration and cooperation between Thailand and Indonesia in the beauty sector, it is hoped that the growth of this industry will continue to thrive and bring positive benefits to both countries and the people of Southeast Asia. To safeguard consumers' interests concerning cosmetic products, the government mandates that industries and importers undergo a notification process. This notification process results in the issuance of a circulation permit valid for 3 years. If there are no changes to the product's content, the circulation permit can be renewed. Regarding Thai cosmetic products, there have been 3,186 product notifications submitted to the BPOM.
