CV Indigo Sejahtera's egg noodle products entered the international market, this time reaching Malaysia after previously making their way to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, last year. The instant vegetable noodles under the brand Zumami are produced by MSMEs from Lebo Village, Sidoarjo District. The export was facilitated by Easy Export Academy and the Indonesian Export Financing Agency (LPEI). Previously, 300 UMKM entrepreneurs from Sidoarjo had marketed their products abroad, with the assistance of Surabaya Export Center. One year ago, through the Surabaya Export Center, Indonesian UMKM products were promoted for export. The target was set at a thousand MSMEs products from 8 provinces in Indonesia, but it surpassed expectations. A total of 1,500 MSMEs products were exported, with 300 of them originating from Sidoarjo District, representing 20%. Beside, the consistency in maintaining product quality must be upheld. The government also support of the local community in Sidoarjo for the locally-made products, such as by purchasing products from Sidoarjo's MSMEs products. This support will strengthen the existence of these UMKM entrepreneurs in Sidoarjo.
Sidoarjo District has launched the 'Kurda Sayang' Program (Brilliant Regional People's Business Credit). This funding assistance program offers low interest rates of 3% per year. 34% of MSMEs businesses fail due to a lack of understanding of the target market. The remaining 8% is attributed to licensing issues, and 5% is due to the use of imported raw materials. The processed food products exported would be marketed in the DoMart supermarket in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The supermarket is dedicated to selling 100% domestic products, with 30% of its products sourced from MSMEs entrepreneurs. The selected MSMEs export products had gone through a rigorous selection process, lasting for three months to ensure that only qualified products are exported.
