Kuningan's Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (UMKM) have managed to penetrate the international market, albeit indirectly, through third parties that meet international business standards. For instance, processed root vegetable products or raw materials from Kuningan's MSMEs have gained popularity in other countries and are being marketed to meet the demands of foreign consumers. Although direct exports through other companies or third parties with international business standards or requirements have not been realized yet, U Kusmana expressed pride in the progress made. The Kuningan Regency Government has provided support for the development of MSMEs through various programs such as SPIRT and HALAL certifications, as well as various training initiatives aimed at enhancing skills. These efforts contribute to the improvement of production, quality, and continuity of businesses to meet market demands.
The development of MSMEs products in Kuningan has made an impact on both local and international markets, with products like fried onions finding their way into Australia and Japan, and red ginger gaining popularity in the Middle East. Moreover, Kuningan's circumcision laser technology is widely distributed and recognized in 62 countries around the world. Exporting products abroad is not a straightforward process and often involves passing through other companies before being re-packaged. The abundance of raw materials in Kuningan provides favorable opportunities for businesses in the region. Furthermore, their adeptness in utilizing appropriate technologies and utilizing both direct and online marketing strategies contributes to their potential for success. The Cooperative, UMKM, Trade, and Industry Agency hope that the MSMEs in Kuningan will continue to thrive in their respective fields and meet consumer demands, so these business activities can uplift the economic well-being of the entire community.
