Direktur Jenderal Penguatan Daya Saing Produk Kelautan dan Perikanan, Kementerian Kelautan dan Perikanan (KKP) Budi Sulistiyo, stated that the number of micro, small, and medium enterprises (UMKM) in the marine and fisheries sector has been increasing by 2% annually. He mentioned this during a discussion event called Bincang Bahari held in Jakarta on Tuesday. The KKP's fostered UMKMs have gained access to people's business credit (KUR) in the first semester of 2023, reaching IDR 322 billion for microcredit, benefiting around 44,900 entrepreneurs.
Through the series of events of the National Movement of Proud Indonesian Products (Gernas BBI) and the National Movement of Proud Tourism in Indonesia (BBWI), to be held in Central Sulawesi, the Secretary of Central Sulawesi, Novalina, stated that they are confident to achieve transactions of IDR 50 billion. The event will feature various UMKMs in the fashion, household, souvenir, and culinary categories, under the theme "100% Central Sulawesi," scheduled for August 5-6, 2023, based on the curation by the Small and Medium Enterprises Agency of the Central Sulawesi Provincial Government.
