The Ministry of Trade is making efforts to boost export performance by providing ease and legal certainty. They recently conducted a hybrid socialization event to inform exporters and stakeholders about two new Minister of Trade Regulations (Permendag) on exports. The regulations, namely Permendag No. 22/2023 concerning Goods Prohibited for Export and Permendag No. 23/2023 concerning Export Policy and Regulation, will be effective from July 19, 2023. The socialization aimed to help businesses understand and implement the rules effectively for smoother business processes.
The two new regulations are long-awaited by exporters, and they are expected to strengthen the national identity in Indonesian fashion products and promote the country's fashion industry on the international stage. The Lombok International Modest Fashion Festival (LIMOFF), the first international fashion event held in West Nusa Tenggara, successfully showcased 900 collections from 109 designers, contributing to the development of the local fashion and creative industry.
