The Trade Attaché Office in Singapore, in collaboration with the Bank Indonesia Office in Singapore and the PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk Representative Office in Singapore, signed a Memorandum of Understanding marking the establishment of Indonesia House of Beans Singapore (IHOB Singapore). This is a tangible example of Indonesia Incorporated, where all elements and stakeholders collaborate cohesively, not only among government institutions and state-owned enterprises but also with private partners and foreign counterparts. IHOB Singapore will serve as a dedicated space for Indonesian SME coffee exporters to have extraordinary opportunities to market their products in Singapore, enabling them to upgrade and compete in the global export market.
The establishment of IHOB Singapore is a concrete step in the Ministry of Trade's effort to consistently build sustainable and collaborative promotion strategies. By partnering with strategic allies such as Bank Indonesia and state-owned banks, we aim to strengthen the synergy between institutions for a more comprehensive export promotion strategy. Singapore is one of the most important destinations for Indonesian coffee exports, given Singapore's market characteristics as a leading coffee trading hub and a barometer for coffee industry trends, not only in the region but also globally. IHOB Singapore will function as a permanent display space showcasing a variety of the finest coffee beans from Indonesia. IHOB Singapore will also serve as a commercial platform for selling and marketing Indonesian coffee beans. All selected and curated coffee bean varieties from Indonesia will be commercially available at IHOB Singapore, both directly to consumers (B2C) and business-to-business (B2B) to other coffee shops or traders, offering various packaging options and sizes, coffee pods and capsules, as well as wholesale packaging of 60 kilograms.
