The Cileunyi - Sumedang - Dawuan (Cisumdawu) Toll Road in Sumedang, West Java, was recently inaugurated by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi). Minister of State-Owned Enterprises Erick Thohir believes that this inauguration can foster tourism and regional investment. According to The Minister, the operation of the Cisumdawu Toll Road will drive increased investment in West Java. Moreover, this mass transportation route also supports the development of trade and tourism in the area.
The Cisumdawu Toll Road connects the city of Bandung via the Cipularang Toll Road to the Cipali Toll Road. With a length of 61.7 kilometers, and this toll road will serve as the main access to Kertajati Airport in Majalengka, West Java. The construction of the Cisumdawu Toll Road began in 2011. President Jokowi mentioned that there were delays due to land acquisition, which is why the toll road could only be inaugurated today.
The construction of the 61.6-kilometer Cisumdawu Toll Road also required a budget of IDR 18.3 trillion, with IDR 9.07 trillion coming from the state budget (APBN) and the rest from public-private partnerships (KPBU) and the private sector. Interestingly, the Cisumdawu Toll Road features two twin tunnels with a combined length of 472 meters. Throughout Indonesia, there is no toll road that passes through two tunnels like Cisumdawu Toll.
