The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) of Batam City noted that Batam City successfully contributed nearly 76% of export activities in the Riau Islands Province in May 2023. According to the BPS data, the value of Batam City's exports in May reached USD 1,197.62 million, an increase of 4.33% compared to the previous month. This figure is more dominant compared to other regencies/cities in the Riau Islands Province, which recorded a total export value of USD 1,585.14 million.The Head of BP Batam, praised this achievement and stated that BP Batam is committed to making a positive contribution to the regional economic growth. BP Batam continues to strive to accelerate the development and improvement of existing supporting infrastructure. We are also committed to developing and modernizing ports to maximize export activities. It is worth noting that Batu Ampar Port is the largest contributing facility to Batam City's export activities in May 2023, with a value of USD 787.89 million. The export volume at the port reached 123.12 thousand tons. The main destination countries for exports include Singapore, the United States, and China. BP Batam are currently preparing for the development of a modern Batam to boost the regional economy.
