Following a visit from the Trade Attaché of the Malaysian Embassy, Regent of Bandung Regency Dadang Supriatna stated that they are currently exploring new potential export products to showcase the regency's superior products. Among the products that have been exported from Bandung Regency are coffee, ginger, and sweet potatoes. Additionally, there are several other superior products that are being developed for potential export. Regent Dadang Supriatna instructed relevant departments such as agriculture, livestock, trade and industry, as well as cooperatives and SMEs to assess the monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, and annual potential to predict and estimate local, regional, and national demands.
The regency aims to prioritize local and national interests before considering exports, emphasizing the importance of increasing production before focusing on export efforts. The visit of the Malaysian trade attaché is part of the efforts to develop and enhance Bandung Regency's export products through exploring potential cooperation. The Department of Trade and Industry of Bandung Regency invited representatives of local businesses, including those who have already conducted exports and SMEs with export potential, to participate in the exploration of cooperation. The aim is to establish business matching between Bandung Regency and Malaysia. Fifteen companies from various sectors, including music miniatures, coffee, ecoprint fabric, woven fabric, catfish floss, bapia (traditional pastry), powdered red ginger, sistik (traditional dish), instant rendang seasoning, powdered etawa milk, instant steeped rice, fried onions, peanut snacks, and dried batagor (Indonesian fried dumplings), were involved in the exploration of cooperation with the Trade Attaché of the Malaysian Embassy.
