Lombok is one of the regions in Indonesia known for producing high-quality organic vanilla. Head of the NTB Trade Office, Baiq Nelly Yuniarti, stated that many farmers in Lombok are involved in the production of organic vanilla as their primary livelihood. "They maintain product quality and uphold the values of organic farming. The government also supports the development of organic agriculture, including vanilla, as part of efforts to improve farmers' welfare and protect the environment," said Nelly. According to her, organic vanilla from Lombok, NTB, is a good choice for those seeking high-quality vanilla products with genuine organic assurance. The demand for organic vanilla commodities from Lombok is quite high, particularly in the global market. Currently, there is demand for organic vanilla from buyers in five countries, including Australia, Canada, Malaysia, Germany, Singapore, and the United States.

Nelly stated that the NTB provincial government has launched the export of one ton of organic vanilla to the United States, and they plan to export an additional seven tons in July. However, the limited number of direct flights to and from NTB poses a challenge to international trade. International trade to market the potential of non-mining commodities is a government target. "The connectivity issue for trading abroad is a challenge. From Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara, there are only two countries with direct flights, namely Malaysia and Singapore," she explained.
