A company engaged in waste transportation and collection in Batam, plans to invest in Tidore Islands. This was discussed during a meeting between the Director of the Company and his delegation with the Mayor of Tidore Islands. During the meeting, The Mayor expressed that PT. Mega Cipta Cemerlang intends to invest in Tidore, and therefore, they conducted a preliminary survey. This survey aimed to assess the conditions and determine the desired location. Afterwards, the proposal will be submitted to the Local Government, and the Local Government will form a special team to assess their requirements. Furthermore, The Mayor mentioned that the locations observed on Tidore Island are Tidore Utara and Tidore Timur. Meanwhile, the recommended location by the City Government is Daratan Oba, considering its geographical proximity to several mining companies.
In principle, the Local Government of Tidore Islands is open, but it must comply with the applicable regulations. On the other hand, the director of PT. Mega Cipta Cemerlang expressed gratitude to the Tidore Islands Government for their warm reception. The objective is to explore potential business opportunities that can be invested here. The priority sectors for our business are shipping, fisheries, and hazardous waste treatment. The director also added that the Chinese investors wanted to know about the attractive policies for investors in Tidore Islands. They also sought information on security measures and presentations related to the Tidore Islands region that support business investment. In terms of investment, particularly in shipping, fishery, especially fish drying, and hazardous and toxic waste treatment, the company is based in Batam. If there is certainty, the company will invest in business, and there is a possibility of establishing a representative office to cover business opportunities.
