The Ministry of Industry in collaboration with the Korea-Indonesia Industrial and Technology Cooperation Center (KITC) Jakarta organized a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) on the utilization of Technology and New Renewable Energy (EBT) in the manufacturing processes of the industrial sector in Indonesia. The FGD aims to gather information and input from stakeholders to discuss potential industrial cooperation, particularly in technology and its applications that can contribute to the implementation of green industry concepts, especially in relation to renewable energy. The opportunities for cooperation between Indonesia and South Korea in the industrial sector still need to be optimized to provide comprehensive benefits for both countries.
Therefore, the Ministry of Industry encourages the government, together with business representatives and industry players from both countries, to actively explore potential and deeper economic involvement, particularly in industrial cooperation. In order to achieve the net zero emission (NZE) target by 2060, the Indonesian Government is implementing five main principles, including increased utilization of renewable energy, reduction of fossil energy, utilization of Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS), increased electricity usage in households and industries, and development of electric vehicle infrastructure in the transportation sector. The Indonesian Government is striving to achieve the national determined contribution in the form of a 358 MtCO2 reduction in CO2 emissions by 2030. The NZE and NDC targets can be achieved through decarbonization strategies, including the implementation of government regulations related to the development of new renewable energy, efforts to replace and seek alternative uses for coal-fired power plants, and the utilization of CCS by the oil and gas industry
