Tanjung Emas Customs and Excise Support The Export of Porang To China

Tanjung Emas Customs and Excise, in collaboration with the Class I Agricultural Quarantine Office in Semarang, inaugurated the first export of 50 tons of dried porang chips (konjac chips) from Central Java to China at the Candi Semarang Industrial Zone. The event was attended by the Mayor of Semarang who expressed the need to continuously improve export activities in order to establish Semarang as an economic hub in Java. The natural resources in Central Java, especially in Semarang are abundant including food and horticultural products. Currently, porang is being exported in a semi-processed form. The local government have hope in the future that the export volume can increase. Not only of semi-processed porang products but also of processed porang products.

The Head of the Semarang Agricultural Quarantine Office, stated that the Agricultural Quarantine office supports the acceleration of exports by issuing Phytosanitary Certificates as a guarantee that the exported products are healthy and fit for consumption, ensuring that they will not be rejected by the destination country. Tanjung Emas Customs and Excise also stated that will always provide optimal support to Indonesian products in expanding to the international market as the customs and excise are open to providing information and education to ensure a smooth export process.
