The Trade Attaché in Riyadh facilitated a virtual meeting between Indonesian fisheries product manufacturers and Saudi Arabian importers to explore market opportunities in Saudi Arabia. The meeting brought together Sembada from Indonesia and Wadina from Saudi Arabia. The Indonesian Ambassador to Riyadh, Abdul Aziz Ahmad, emphasized the importance of continuous efforts to forge new connections between Indonesian producers and potential buyers in Saudi Arabia. He praised the use of communication technology that allows virtual meetings, urging the frequency and enhancement of such virtual encounters. Sembada is a frozen demersal fish processing company that also deals with pelagic fish, cephalopods, shrimp, slipper lobster, and prawns. They export over 30 containers of processed fish products monthly, sourcing their raw materials from fishermen across Indonesia. On the other hand, Wadina is a reputable food company in Saudi Arabia engaged in the import, marketing, and distribution of various food products. They are interested in importing fish fillets from Sembada and have requested that the products meet the requirements of the Saudi Food and Drug Authority. The Trade Attaché in Riyadh, Gunawan, highlighted the potential for Indonesia to increase its seafood exports to Saudi Arabia and recognized Wadina's efforts to expand and improve their seafood offerings to meet the demands of the Saudi market.
