East Kalimantan Exports Non-Oil and Gas Products to the European Union Worth USD 191.78 Million

During January to April 2023, East Kalimantan province conducted non-oil and gas exports to several countries in the European Union, such as the Netherlands, Spain, Italy, and others, with a value of USD 191.78 million. The breakdown is exports to the Netherlands worth USD 59.93 million, Spain USD 49.28 million, Italy USD 35.37 million, and other European Union countries USD 47.19 million. Some of the non-oil and gas commodities exported include mineral fuels, animal or vegetable fats and oils, inorganic chemicals, organic chemicals, various chemical products, wood and wood products or charcoal, as well as fish or other aquatic animals.

Overall, the total export value from East Kalimantan, both oil and gas and non-oil and gas, reached USD 9.48 billion during January to April 2023, an increase of 8.87%compared to the same period in 2022, which was valued at USD 8.7 billion. It was also stated that the USD 191.78 million worth of non-oil and gas exports experienced a 11.26% decrease compared to the January-April 2022 period, which was valued at USD 216.11 million. Meanwhile, the value of non-oil and gas exports to 13 European and other countries in April 2023 amounted to USD 2.07 billion, a decrease of USD 296.42 million or 12.48%compared to March 2023. Furthermore, exports to Japan decreased by USD 93.64 million or minus 40.5% in April. In the European Union region, Yusniar added, the export value of East Kalimantan province amounted to USD 58.87 million or 79.1%. Similarly, the Southeast Asian region experienced a decrease of USD 40.45 million or 8.22%.
