The Acting Regent of Bangkalan stated that the investment realization in the first quarter in the regency has reached more than IDR 234 billion, with a total employment absorption of 4,595 people. The data is in accordance with one presented in the Online Single Submission (OSS) system and based on the reports submitted by the Investment and Integrated One-Stop Service Agency (DPMPTSP). Out of the total investment value, the trade sector recorded the highest contribution compared to other types of businesses, such as agriculture and transportation. According to the regent, the Bangkalan Regency Government is currently making efforts to attract investor interest in investing in Bangkalan Regency by simplifying licensing procedures and implementing a proactive approach. The government also have a program called 'Jempol Boss' or 'Jemput Bola Bangkalan OSS' (OSS Business Outreach). Through this program, the government directly visit various sub-districts in Bangkalan Regency to provide education and training to business actors, encouraging them to register their businesses and obtain a Business Identification Number (NIB) through OSS. So, the government directly approach the people, in order to provide training and guidance.
The Acting Regent of Bangkalan is confident that with this approach, investment in the westernmost regency of Madura Island will increase compared to before. In 2022, the recorded investment value in Bangkalan Regency reached IDR 570.2 billion, with a total employment absorption of 5,578 people. Meanwhile, in 2021, it reached more than IDR 328 billion. With the proactive approach and ease of licensing that we implement, the local government believe that the investment realization in Bangkalan this year can be higher compared to last year, because the realization of IDR 234 billion is only for the first quarter of 2023.
