One of Indonesia's SMEs, PT Roda Elektrik Asia (Elders Garage), is set to export 240 electric scooter conversion kits to the European market this year. According to the CEO, each conversion kit is priced at IDR 25 million. Therefore, the export value of 240 conversion kits to Europe amounts to IDR 5 billion. Furthermore, he explained that the commitment to export to Switzerland is carried out through a dealership system, where the kits are sold through dealerships that have collaborated with the company, and the distribution will be from Switzerland to several countries. The shipments will be done gradually, with 20 units per month. Therefore, within one year, a total of 240 conversion kits will be exported to Europe. The necessary export documents and paperwork, including legalization and other matters will also be taken care of first.
For information, these conversion kits are used to convert petrol-powered scooters into electric scooters. Users also only need three hours to convert one petrol-powered scooter into an electric scooter using this conversion kit since it is plug and play. However, it is also emphasized that only conversion kits for scooters in Europe will be export and will not export fully assembled electric scooters. Moreover, the scooters in Europe are vintage models produced between 1950 and 1990, which have a similar frame design worldwide, so they only need to prepare the engines.
