In an effort to promote and expedite the strategic, priority, and super priority programs, the Ministry of Agriculture (Kementan) continues to build synergy with law enforcement agencies by collaborating with Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri), the Ministry of Public Works and Housing (Kementerian PUPR), and the Ministry of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/National Land Agency (Kementerian ATR/BPN), as well as the Association of Village Governments throughout Indonesia (Apdesi), in an effort to strengthen food security. The event was conducted in the form of a Coordination Meeting on Food Security Supervision (Rakorwas) for Java region, with the theme 'Synergy of Supervision on Regional Government's Commitment in Supporting Food Security Programs'. The cooperation between the Inspector General of Kementan and Kemendagri was initiated by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
During the Rakorwas event, according to the Inspector General of Kementan’s statement that in addition to the challenge of land conversion that has not been maximally addressed, there are also the threat of drought and El Nino, which must be collectively faced to anticipate these issues. Synergy and joint commitment built between internal government supervisory agencies (APIP) and law enforcement agencies (APH) as well as regional leaders are crucial in this natural condition to anticipate climate change. The commitment of regional leaders to actively contribute to food security programs is of utmost importance, including through the issuance of Regional Regulations on Sustainable Agricultural Land Protection (LP2B) and the prioritization of agricultural-based village fund management.
