The program was launched simultaneously by all branches of the Indonesian Medical Association (IDI) in East Java. Rezekiyanti, the Vice Chairman of the Banyuwangi Branch of IDI, expressed that the commemoration of Indonesian Doctors' Day is inseparable from the spirit of national awakening. Throughout history, doctors have tirelessly dedicated themselves and remained consistent in carrying out their three main roles: as agents of treatment, agents of change, and agents of development. It is a complex role for doctors in the development of the Indonesian people.
One of the activities for the 115th Indonesian Doctors' Day is the planting of fruit trees, which serves as a support for the provision of nutrition for pregnant women and future children, as well as for the reclamation of critical land in several areas of Banyuwangi. This activity is expected to greatly contribute to addressing the issue of stunting, which remains a focus for the Banyuwangi Regency. Rezekiyanti hopes that Indonesian doctors can continue to advance in their service and synergize in development. Indonesian doctors must continue to enhance their genuine dedication to a healthy and sovereign society. She also explained that the fruit tree planting movement aims to provide a source of nutrition for pregnant women and toddlers in the future. It is hoped that in the coming months until October 2023, IDI can meet the target of 5,000 fruit tree seedlings donated by doctors who are members of the Banyuwangi Branch of IDI, and the fruit tree seed will be planted in critical land areas, namely Tamansari Village, Kampung Anyar Village, and Pesucen Village.
