Bank Indonesia Fast-tracks Islamic Economy Development in Eastern Indonesia

Bank Indonesia (BI) and its strategic partners are collaborating to foster the growth of the Islamic economy and finance in the Eastern Indonesia Region (KTI). During the Festival of Islamic Economy (FESyar) in Samarinda, Deputy Governor of Bank Indonesia for Bali Province, Gusti Agung Diah Utari, expressed their commitment to accelerate the development of Islamic finance alongside the government and relevant institutions. The seminar focused on topics such as expanding halal certification and Indonesia's potential as a hub for halal product production, aiming to enhance the export of halal goods and position Indonesia as a global center for halal manufacturing.

At the seminar, Budiastuti Arieswati, Secretary of the Halal Task Force at the Ministry of Religious Affairs in Bali, discussed the policies surrounding halal certification to support the halal industry. Afdhal Aliansar, Director of the National Committee on Islamic Economy and Finance, presented the master plan for Indonesia's halal industry from 2023 to 2029, emphasizing the continuous development of the fashion, Muslim-friendly tourism, and creative Islamic economy sectors. These efforts aim to strengthen the halal value chain across various sectors and contribute to the future growth of the halal industry in Indonesia.
