The Indonesian Customs and Excise (Bea Cukai) plays a role as a trade facilitator by providing export assistance to domestic industries. This is done by exploring the potential of businesses and providing guidance on the export process. The export assistance was recently conducted by Bea Cukai Ambon and Bea Cukai Madura. Bea Cukai Ambon formed an export support team and provided assistance to Kamboti Cooperative, which had plans to export cloves, walnuts, and nanari to the Netherlands. Bea Cukai also coordinated with the Ambon Class I Quarantine and Agricultural Agency to ensure the success of the export. In Madura, Bea Cukai collaborated with the Jeddah Trade Promotion Center (ITPC Jeddah) to organize business matching sessions between Jeddah buyers and micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) from Madura. The goal was to help the MSMEs expand into new markets outside Indonesia, particularly in Saudi Arabia.
Bea Cukai continuously provides assistance to domestic businesses for export purposes, aiming to boost their potential and contribute to Indonesia's economy. Hatta Wardhana, the Sub-Director of Public Relations and Outreach, emphasized Bea Cukai's role in supporting industries and facilitating trade. Exporting not only benefits businesses but also has a positive impact on the overall Indonesian economy.
