Head of the Human Resources Development Agency for Industry (BPSDMI) of the Ministry of Industry, Masrokhan, announced that investment value reached IDR 135.3 trillion in the first quarter of 2023. This positive trend is reflected in the Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI) record for April 2023, which increased to 52.7 compared to 51.9 in March 2023. The industry's pivotal role in national development and its contribution to economic growth were emphasized, as it accounted for 16.77% of the country's GDP in the first quarter of 2023. Masrokhan highlighted the industry's significant tax contributions, amounting to 28.7%, and its role in generating employment opportunities for 19.11 million individuals. These remarks were made during the graduation ceremony of the Diploma One (D1) Program in Furniture Finishing Techniques at Polifurneka Kendal.
Polifurneka's D1 graduates in Furniture Finishing Techniques have been well-received by the industry, with 100% of them being absorbed immediately. Among the 24 graduates in 2023, Farid Lutfihakim from Kendal emerged as the top performer with a GPA of 4. Additionally, 15 participants received honors (Cumlaude). The establishment of the Furniture Finishing Techniques study program aimed to address the need for skilled workers in the industry. The collaboration between Polifurneka and the finishing industry resulted in a curriculum consisting of 10 courses, providing 25% theory and 75% practical components. Leading industry players such as PT. Bio Industries Omnipresen, PT. Propan Raya ICC, and PT. Mitra Graha Selaras have successfully absorbed Polifurneka graduates.
