Bea Cukai Kendari recently welcomed a working visit from Indonesia Eximbank, the Export Financing Institution of Indonesia, at its office. The purpose of the visit was to coordinate the development of export products from Southeast Sulawesi Province (Sultra) and explore international markets. The meeting involved discussions with PT. Citra Alam Sulawesi, a company specializing in copra products and a participant in the Bea Cukai Kendari Export Clinic, as well as Sinokor, a container shipping agent for exports. LPEI expressed its intention to survey and initiate coffee and cocoa export villages in North Kolaka Regency (Kolut) and sought coordination with Bea Cukai Kendari, the government agency responsible for export and import matters. It was emphasized that the full support of Bea Cukai was essential in assisting businesses in marketing their products overseas.
Fajar Sadiq, a representative of the Customs and Excise Service and Technical Support Section, stated that Bea Cukai Kendari was prepared to provide ample opportunities for businesses engaged in international trade. As an agency fulfilling the roles of industrial assistance and trade facilitation, Bea Cukai Kendari aimed to offer support and encouragement for businesses to engage in international trade. The visit from LPEI, along with discussions involving shipping agents and business owners, aimed to provide LPEI with insights into the export potential of products from Sultra and facilitate their international marketing. Effective cooperation between LPEI and Bea Cukai Kendari was anticipated to materialize the export potential of Sultra's products, contributing to the region's foreign exchange earnings and benefiting farmers by streamlining the supply chain and obtaining better prices.
