Indonesia's specialty coffee products generated transactions worth USD 20.6 million at the Specialty Coffee Expo (SCE) 2023 held in Portland, Oregon from April 21 to 23. The event is the largest specialty coffee exhibition in North America, attracting over 10,000 visitors annually. The Indonesian coffee producers and exporters that participated in the exhibition were selected from various regions of the country, showcasing special coffee from West Java, Aceh Gayo, Mandailing, and Toraja.
According to USITC data, the export value of Indonesian coffee products (HS Code 0901) to the United States in 2022 was USD 319 million, up 52.64% from USD 209 million in 2021. Indonesia's Director General of National Export Development, Didi Sumedi, emphasized the need to consistently promote Indonesia's premium specialty products for export to meet market demands, especially in the US, Indonesia's second-largest export destination.
