According to the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS), Indonesia's tempe exports rose to 57.4% in value to USD 1.62 million and 56.07% in volume to 533.97 tons in 2022 compared to the previous year. Tempe is one of Indonesia's authentic foods that became popular worldwide, with consumers in various countries namely the United States, Germany, and Canada embracing the product.
Japan, in 2022, became the largest importer of tempe from Indonesia with USD 231.244, followed by South Korea with USD 217.303, Singapore with USD 26.625, Hong Kong with 16.776, and Malaysia with USD 15.096.
