LPEI Involve 2000 Farmers Successfully Export Buleleng Milkfish Abroad

The Bali Provincial Livestock and Animal Health Office (LPEI) has successfully exported milkfish from Buleleng to several countries, including Malaysia, Singapore, and Japan. The export involved 2,000 milkfish farmers who were part of a seed cluster program implemented by the LPEI. Under the program, the LPEI helped the farmers improve the quality and quantity of their milkfish harvest, providing them with training and technical assistance. As a result, the farmers could meet export standards and access new markets, which helped improve their livelihoods and the local economy.
According to the head of the LPEI, the export of milkfish from Buleleng has increased significantly in recent years, with 20,000 tons of milkfish harvested in 2022. He also noted that the seed cluster program has helped improve the quality and productivity of milkfish farming in the region, contributing to the local economy's growth. Overall, the successful export of milkfish from Buleleng highlights the potential of small-scale farmers to participate in global trade and contribute to economic development.
