Indonesian Ambassador to Cairo: Tens of Tons of Indonesian Cocoa Powder Exported to Egypt

On March 27, 2023, the Indonesian Ambassador, Lutfi Rauf accompanied by the Trade Attache and Coordinator of Economic Functions of the Indonesian Embassy in Cairo witnessed the signing of a contract for the import of cocoa powder products in the amount of 25 MT worth USD 47,500 (Rp. 717 million exchange rate 1 USD = Rp. 15,102) from PT Kans Agro Indonesia to A to Z for Import & Export, located in the Promotion Room of the Indonesian Embassy in Cairo.


"As the Head of the RI Representative in Egypt, I give my greatest appreciation for the loyalty and trust of Egyptian buyers in importing Indonesia's superior products and hopes that Indonesian business actors can provide guarantees and assurance that the quality of cocoa powder products exported to Egypt is of the best quality," said the Ambassador. Lutfi.
The Indonesian Ambassador, Lutfi Rauf expressed his appreciation to Egyptian business actors who chose to import cocoa powder products from Indonesia and hoped that Indonesian exporters would maintain the trust given so that they could provide benefits and benefits not only for the two companies but also for the two countries.


Trade Attache, M. Syahran Bhakti. S added, it is hoped that this cooperation in the export of cocoa powder products can last a long time with an ever-increasing transaction value. Cocoa powder products are semi-finished products that have been processed and of course provide added value. The Cairo Trade Minister believes that even though the global recession has hit the world and has also affected Egypt, it will not discourage Egypt's interest in importing cocoa powder products from Indonesia.
The Director of PT Kans Agro Indonesia, Amirullah Kandu, expressed his gratitude for the support from the Indonesian Embassy in Cairo and that the Egyptian buyers' trust will be maintained by providing quality cocoa powder products according to the standards in force in Egypt and implementing a halal policy mechanism. Amirullah hopes that Indonesian cocoa powder can color the cocoa powder market in Egypt.


Furthermore, the Director of A to Z for Import & Export, Mahmoud Ibrahim Awadh Ibrahim, welcomed the opportunity for business collaboration and hoped that the import of cocoa powder products could take place in a sustainable manner, and be able to meet the needs of the cocoa market in Egypt. The Egyptian market is still very dependent on product quality standards and affordable prices, and apart from that, A to Z for Import & Export is willing to meet Indonesia's demand opportunities for both fruit products, agricultural products and other products needed from Egypt.
Egypt is a cocoa powder importing country with total imports from the world in January-December 2022 reaching USD 63.60 million and Indonesia is ranked as the fifth largest exporter with an export value of USD 8.41 million (or Rp. 126 billion in exchange rate 1USD = Rp. 15.077) ) with competitors including Malaysia, the Netherlands, Spain, and Germany.
