Yandri Susanto, the Vice Chairman of People's Consultative Assembly (MPR), hopes that national food products can penetrate the export market. According to him, Indonesia has a variety of food products that have the potential to be developed and exported, such as rice, coffee, cocoa, spices, and various types of fruits and vegetables.
In order for these products to be able to compete in the international market, Yandri emphasized the need for quality improvement, packaging, and branding. He also urged stakeholders to actively promote and market Indonesian food products to overseas markets.
Yandri believes that the export of national food products can provide a significant contribution to Indonesia's foreign exchange earnings, and can also improve the welfare of farmers and other players in the agricultural sector.
Currently, Indonesia's food product exports are still dominated by traditional products such as shrimp, fish, and crackers. However, Yandri hopes that with the development of quality and branding, other food products can also enter the international market and help boost Indonesia's export performance.
